Introduction

Purpose

This manual aims to provide an understanding of the data entities currently available through the Practise and Case Management Bring Your Own BI (BYOBI) service. This solution is agnostic of any third-party reporting tool.

Audience

This manual is aimed at anyone that has a need to understand the BYOBI data entities to author reports using PowerBITM, ExcelTM, TableauTM, QlikTM etc or extract data into a third-party data hosting solution. It is assumed the reader has at least a basic understanding of database concepts and an understanding of how their Practise and Case Management system is configured. It is also assumed that the reader understands the tool of choice in which reports will be created. The manual does not provide any third party use guidance.

Data Platform

Data Platform FAQs

Data Platform has been developed by OneAdvanced to provide customers with secure access to their data in the cloud. It is required because cloud-based databases can’t be securely accessed directly via the Internet.

OneAdvanced’s Data Platform includes two main services: Bring Your Own BI and Data Share. More details can be found here.

Connection Options

OneAdvanced Bring Your Own BI and Data Share are data services built on the OneAdvanced Data Platform. Both services enable you to securely access and consume data from OneAdvanced cloud-based products.

The Data Platform is built on modern cloud-native technologies, leveraging Snowflake for data storage, processing and security. Snowflake incorporates APIs and data-sharing capabilities to ensure seamless access for customers and integrations with BI tools.

More details can be found in the Data Platform FAQs link above.

The purpose of the BYOBI Connection Options guide is to help you understand which of the available Snowflake connection methods is appropriate for your data access requirements, balancing security and convenience.
