Buyer Admin: Multi Factor Authentication for logins

MFA For Buyer Administrators

If you login directly to Purchasing (formerly Advanced Marketplace) you will be required to set up and use Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) via a smartphone app or browser extension as part of the login process.

When MFA has been enabled on your account, after entering your username and password as normal, the following screen will appear:

Mobile App: If you don't have an authenticator app installed on your smartphone, please download and install one in line with the instructions on screen. Then follow the on-screen instructions to setup your account.

Browser Extension: If you choose to use a browser extension instead of a smartphone app then click the option 'can't scan the bar code', and the following screen will appear. Add your chosen browser extension to your browser and follow the on-screen instructions:

Once this has been setup, on each subsequent login you will need to use the app or extension to obtain your One Time Passcode to login securely.

What if I lose my setup in my authenticator app?

If you cannot generate a passcode in the app having previously set it up (such as changing mobile phones), you will need to request a reset of you MFA passcodes for the Purchasing system.

After a reset you will be required to set up the account in the app or extension again as per the original process.

How do I request a reset?

Buyer administrators can reset the MFA on any user account in their organisation as follows:

  1. Login as Admin and search for the user required:
  2. Click the Advanced Account Management button
  3. Click Reset TOTP and a confirmation popup will appear. Click OK:
  4. The below message will appear to confirm that the TOTP for MFA has been reset:

When the user next logs in they will be required to run through the MFA set up procedure.
