Buyer: How do I create a Marketplace News article?

AD team Updated by AD team

Marketplace News

Marketplace News gives you the opportunity to post news updates onto the homepage for all users to see.

News appears in the form of a carousel on the Purchasing homepage. Users can navigate around News using the arrows or the dots shown in the image below. There can be up to 11 articles displayed in this view:

Selecting See more launches the following screen where only users with the appropriate permission are able to create and edit news articles, as well as filtering by Current, Future and Past publications.

There is no limit to the amount of News available in this view; if multiple articles have been added there is an option at the bottom of the screen to navigate around the different pages.

Please be aware that only OneAdvanced can create Supplier Offers and Updates.

How do I create a News article?

  1. Providing your account has the correct permissions, you can add a News article through one of two access points. Either:
  • By clicking the See more button on Marketplace News as covered above, and then clicking Create News Article
  • Or, from the Admin dropdown, select Manage news articles. This will open a window to view all news along with an option to Create news article
  1. From the Create Article page, the following fields are presented to complete:
  • Title* (100 character limit)
  • Tag Line* (200 character limit)
  • Content* (4,000 character limit)
  • Upload image: There is no size limit as the system will automatically rescale the image to fit the screen
  • Display from* and Display to dates
  • Add priority to this content: Only one News Article can have this assigned at any one time. This article will appear first on the Homepage carousel. When selecting to 'Read more' on a priority article, a 'Featured' flag will appear (please see example screenshot below)
All fields marked with * next to them are mandatory.
  1. Click Save.
